Dole, I saw a post on the WS forums asking what software people use to manage their cellars. I was going to recommend this site, but if you don't want the added traffic, I won't do it.

My mother-in-law asked me about a bottle of Mateus. I've tried looking around the Internet, and all I can find out is that it is generally a low-end import. Still, I'd like to find out more about it for her. It has no vintage or bottling date, but she says she got it as a wedding present 32 years ago. It has (amazingly) been stored in a cool closet (51 degrees) on its side the entire time, so I'm not worried about spoilage. What does anyone know about this wine? Any help, as always, is appreciated.

Great website, very easy and functional, much more user friendly than any of the commercial cellar management software that I have tried.
One suggestion: there should be "+" and "-" buttons on the cellar listing page that would allow a user to change the quantity of a wine without leaving the main cellar listing page.

Hi,
I have recently come across 1961 Chateau Angelus. 1961 supposed to be best Bordeaux year last century?
Can anyone give an opinion on a recent tasting of this wine.
Thanks.

Scanned in the UPC from a bottle of Ch. Garraud 2000 (Lalande de Pomerol), and discovered the code had already been applied to a different wine (a Barolo).
Could an importer have been reusing codes? Error in the database this was imported from? Any other explanation? Any protocol you've got for handling this?

When I lived in France from 1996-1999, there was a magazine I used to subscribe to, but I cannot recall the name of it. It usually had a yellow-ochre cover, and the unique feature was a little yellow vial that accompanied each magazine. The vial contained a new "aroma" or scent to commit to olfactory memory. Does anyone know the name of the magazine? I am trying to find it again. Cheers, Christina

Just want to ask if anyone has had an opportunity to try this (cultish) boutique wine. I often wonder how much of the price of similar wine is based on the mystique and how much on the quality. But, sad to say, my ignorance didn't keep me from buying a bottle when opportunity arose.
