Is anyone familiar with Martin Creek Cellars? I have not been able to find info on the web about them. What I do know: They have aged in oak for ten years (1986-1996), cabs. They have bottled these cabs in 1996, and labled them 1986 Cabernet Sauvignon Proprietors Reserve. So far so good, right. I have found a dealer (ugh,on eBay) that is selling this by the case, and they have been going for $75 to $120 per case. These seems very cheap for 17 year old Cab. Any insights or experiences out there?
I too saw the wine on eBay and infact won a case at the price of $77.00 I too tryed to find this vintner on the web but no luck. I figure for less then $8.50 a bottle (including shipping), what the hell, I'll give it a try. If it turns out good, I'll reply with a post later next week. 3/10/03
Well, I received my case of wine or should I say vinegar. My mistake in bidding on this wine is I failed to review the sellers feedback. That alone would have kept me away. This wine had no sign of a wine that had been a bottle for 7+ years. The cork was dry and the lable looked very cheesey. My advise, Stay away!!!
