After receiving an offer from The Chicago Wine Co. I am interested in pre-ordering a case or two of 2000 vintage Port. Anyone had experience; specific or general, in regards to this?

I would recommend visiting with your local wine retailers/merchants and even area distributors about ordering pre-arrivals. CWC has some decent auctions and I have used their auction catalogs for years as one of my pricing indicators. It is often easier to work through the local fine wine shops. You can also compare pre-arrival prices at zachys.com ($97.99btl./$1119.00 cs. for '00 Fonseca or Taylor Flad.and other on-line sources. The internet is a wonderful invention! Good luck with your hunt.
