I have also tried this at a recent gathering of friends. A friend brought the bottle and it supposedly came from a wine broker in Southern California (San Diego?) I believe. It was labeled as a Washington State wine (Walla Walla) and was pretty good as I remember.
Here is the funny part. This gathering is always one of those who can bing the best wines kind of thing. My friend was coming from California (to Oregon) for this party and said one of the wines he was bringing was from a Washington Winery called "Creighton". I researched every thing I could think of trying to find out about this winery, including calling the Walla Walla Vintners Association, all to no avail.
I just went back online and nobody is carrying this wine that I can find. This includes, Zachy's Avalon, and all of the wine search sites I know of.
If you would like to email outside of this comment area I will contact my friend and see who his broker is. It may be that this guy has exclusive distribution rights. Let me know.
