Wine Notes: | The wine's label depicts the landmark lighthouse at Pencarrow Heads, situated to the east of Palliser Bay at the entrance to Wellington Harbour. To avoid problematic cork taint, Palliser Estate uses Stelvin (screw) caps. Our panel's tasting note: Pale straw colour with aromas of kiwi, guava, sweet grass, plus a note of tar and even cassis. Dry, crisp and quite assertive. Classic NZ SB. Full-bodied with a long, crisp/fruit finish. Tasted in October 2002. Food match: grilled prawns marinated in Pernod or Ouzo. |
