| Wine Notes: | Loupiac sweet wines, made on the right bank of the Garonne River, have always struggled under the giant shadow of the left bank's Sauternes, but in the best hands (and according to the Oxford Companion to Wine, Château Loupiac-Gaudiet is one of the best), it can rival the big brother from across the 'creek'. Our panel's tasting note: Medium straw/gold colour with aromas of pineapple, pear and iodine. Medium sweet, supple, very well-balanced, still very young botrytis-affected wine.
