| Wine Notes: | And for those who like red even with light, summery, fish dishes, there's Trenel Chiroubles 2001 ($18.95, No. 712505), a serious Beaujolais with good extract and balance, ripe berry flavours and a crisp, long finish. Pick of the week. (Beppi Crosariol, Globe & Mail, June 7, 2003). The négociant Trenel produces an entire range of Beaujolais and Mâconnais wines; they also create Crème de Cassis and Crème de Framboise, both of which have been featured at Vintages in the past. Our panel's tasting note: Medium ruby colour with aromas of strawberry, blueberry and clove. Dry, lively and ripe. Light-bodied with a very good finish.
