| Wine Notes: | Shows an impressive depth of aromas on the nose - upfront vanilla, creamy butter, nougat, macadamia and toasted almonds are intertwined with opulent tropical fruits and spices. The palate is humble to begin with, but builds majesticaly into an orchestral array of flavours and textures with alluring hints of minerals among its peaches, apples and tropical fruits, nutty, fresh baked bread and buttery oak influenced structure. Balancing, rounded acidity draws out the finish into a persistant length that keeps coming back to haunt the palate. Great finesse and concentration make for an addictive combination. Die Parzellen, die Henri Boillot bewirtschaftet, haben Südexposition. „Ein Jahr des Corton-Charlemagne“, kommentierte Boillot bei unserer Verkostung der 2003er Weine. Nun, da mag etwas dran sein, jedoch gehören bereits seit 1999 seine Cortons-Charlemagnes zur Kategorie der 10,12 aufregendsten weißen Burgunder überhaupt. Exzellente Beschreibung von Tanzer hier: „Lebendige Aromen von Apfel, kristallisierter Zitronenhaut (!), Gewürzen, Mineralien und kaltem Stahl (!!). Stahlig und durchdringend im Geschmack [ja!], mit geradezu schmerzlicher Geschmacksintensität und Biß [ja!]. Extrem dicht und sinnlich mit einem saftigen Ananasgeschmack. Von Reben, die am 1. September geerntet wurden; schmeckt wie ein Wein aus einem anderen Jahrgang.“ (Tanzer, 93-95) |
