Wine Notes:  Bronze medal winner at the 2001 Canadian Wine Awards. Equuleus is Château des Charmes’ take on a Bordeaux blend, composed of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Cabernet Franc and 13% Merlot, aged one year in French oak. (Source: Classics, Holiday 2002 Edition). The 1998 Equuleus is a classically styled blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Cabernet Franc and 15% Merlot. Equuleus is only produced in exceptional vintages and is notable for its age worthiness and concentration. Aged for one year in French Tronçais and Allier oak barrels, Equuleus is rich and full bodied with flavours of cassis and Dark Chocolate. Equuleus is the name of the "Little Horse" constellation, best seen when it rises in the night sky at harvest time every September. This equine symbol celebrates Château des Charmes' founder Paul-Michel Bosc's passion for Egyptian Arabian horses which are stabled at the Paul Bosc Estate, the family's home vineyard.
