| Wine Notes: | Though not officially organic, Château de Combebelle uses biodynamic techniques. That means no chemical sprays and only natural compost is used for fertilizer. The blend here is 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache with a very short time in barrel. Our panel’s tasting note: Aromas of black cherry, cassis, oak, hickory smoke and spice. Dry, full-bodied, quite extracted with lots of ripe fruit. The finish lingers. For those diehards, try with a winter barbecued steak. (Source: Vintages, January 2002 release) |
