Wine Notes: | This is the last wine from our best block of estate Chardonnay grapes. The 27-year-old vines were pulled out after the 1999 harvest and the block has since been replanted with Pinot Noir. The block showed its best for its last year. Flavors of crisp ripe apples, toasted hazelnuts, and fresh figs meld into a creaminess that is integrated and balanced. The wine went through fermentation, stirring of the lees, a long, slow, 100% malolactic fermentation and the aging process all in small French oak barrels. |
