Wine Notes: | Petit Verdot is rarely bottled as a varietal wine because of its intensity and tannins, serving in traditional Bordeaux blends to add color and structure. This wine, made from fruit grown in St. Supéry's home vineyard in Rutherford, was so attractive to me that I decided to bottle a small amount. Inky, deep and rich, with full tannins, the Petit Verdot was blended with a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon to round out the finish. Only 204 cases produced. |
