2007 Castle Rock Willamette Valley Pinot NoirPinot Noir  11.00   WS-87
From Wine Spectator: "Soft and open-textured with vivid red plum and berry flavors on a polished frame, lingering nicely. This elegant medium-bodied wine offers aromas of cherry and spice. On the palate the wine gives flavors of berries, cinnamon, black cherry, sweet vanilla, oak, and floral notes, with a long velvety finish. This versatile wine pairs well with lamb, chicken, veal, salmon and light pasta dishes.
2007 Columbia Crest Grand Estates Columbia Valley ChardonnayChardonnay  8.00   WS-89
If you're looking for tasty bargain, the Columbia Crest Grand Estates in the Chardonnay for you. In their recent review of great bargain bottles, Bon Appetit Magazine called the 2007 Chardonnay: "An elegant wine, rich with apple, pear and a hint of oak." 89 poiints Wine Spectator: "Lithe, open-textured and inviting, offering a very pretty mouthful of delicately spicy pear and fig flavors that linger on the silky finish
2006 Wolfgang Vineyard "Concerto" Grüner VeltlinerGruner Veltliner Cold Storage8.001
Wolfgang Vineyards located in Burgenland, Austria produces wines that capture the unique spicy character of Austria's most hearalded grape. This wine, Concerto is a selection of grapes picked a bit riper and vinified partially in stainless steel and unlike the "Wolfgang" sees a bit of neutral wood to add richness and depth. It is bold and mineral with a pronouced peppery nose mixed with citrus and sweet herbs. The finish is long and spicy inviting another sip. Known for its versatility, Grüner Veltliner really sings with the flavors of spring and summer even tough to match foods like artichokes and asparagus.
Very good. We enjoyed the first bottle we had. Smooth - High acidity - seemed to go well with food
2006Achával Ferrer 2006 Achával Ferrer Malbec MendozaMalbec R220.001  RP-92
"Ripe and forward, with blackberry and boysenberry fruit augmented by notes of violet, mineral and sweet toast. The long, rounded finish shows a minerally tang."
2006Alcina Russian River Valley Pinot NoirPinot Noir  16.00   R2
What an incredible wine for the price! Alcina Cellars' Russian River Valley Pinot Noir has a vibrant red-fruited nose indicative of its source - the southernmost edge of the Russian River Valley. Hints of root beer and black tea complement the fruit on the nose. In the mouth, the dark red fruit and black tea follow, with plush tannins, juicy acidity that make this a no-brainer for the dinner table. K&L's Bryan Brick says: "Simply put, this is the best value in Domestic Pinot Noir I've seen all year. I love its cherry pit, rhubarb, cola and warm earth aromatics, and tremendously silky, unmistakable ripe red-fruited nature that only Russian River Valley could produce. A wine like this typically sells for more than twice this price on the market today. Long and generous with a pretty persistent earthiness and pleasing sassafras, black raspberry and clove notes on the long finish, the Alcina is inexpensive enough for a cocktail or party wine, yet serious enough to impress all your pinot nerd friends
2005Ambullneo Big Paw Chardonnay, Santa Maria ValleyChardonnay Cold Storage24.00   RP-91
This is the winery’s stainless steel-fermented Chardonnay. It’s a big, ripe, full-throttled wine, and without undergoing malolactic fermentation, it’s also a bit raw in acidity. The flavors are enormous, suggesting baked apples, pineapple marmalade, sweet date tapenade, candied ginger and Asian spices. Could be a sleeper. Try aging it for five to ten years.
Purchased for 1/2 price at K&L. Very good Chard
2006Amisfield Pinot Noir Central Otago New ZealandPinot Noir R234.00   WS-90
The 2005 Amisfield Pinot was listed #22 in the Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2007! An excellent New World Pinot Noir from New Zealand's Central Otago, the 2006 Amisfield shows black fruits and spice aromas with hints of anise and smoke. Fine-grained tannins and balanced acidity. Though this will continue to improve for another five years with careful cellaring, it's hard to imagine why you'd want to wait; this is drinking remarkably well now!
2006Ancient Peaks Zinfandel Paso RoblesZinfandel  14.00   WS-93
93 points Wine Spectator: "Supple and well-structured, yet appealingly briary, with smoky, peppery wild berry aromas and ripe, layered flavors of black cherry, sage and licorice that linger nicely. Drink now through 2012. 491 cases made
2006Aresti "Estate Selection" Pinot Noir Curicó ValleyPinot Noir R211.00   WS-83
The Aresti Pinot Noir has vibrant strawberry jam aromas, anise and cinnamon on the nose. The aromas continue through to the palate, easy-drinking and yet complex, with a nice, long finish. Per WS - Light-bodied, with good spice, earth and cherry notes. Drink now. 3,000 cases imported
We really like this pinot. Light bodied but nice
2006Argyle Willamette Valley RieslingRiesling Cold Storage17.501
The aromas of this fourth Riesling from our Lone Star Vineyard is a vibrant mix of the tropical, the floral, and the tree fruit. The tropical really sticks out with all kinds of possibilities including guava, lychee, and guanabana aromas. The floral is dominated by a lovely West Indian lime blossom and honeysuckle. Finally, the tree fruit portion is dominated by fresh persimmon, pear, and nectar of peach. The flavor is racy yet juicy. Pay attention to the blend of mineral, citrus with ponzu, pear, and persimmon (the three "p's"!). Juicy fruit salad centered and a long tree and tropical fruit finish round off a very nice Riesling indeed.
2006Bernier Chardonnay Vins du Pays Jardin de la FranceChardonnay R27.00
The wine is produced by the three brothers Couillaud at the Château de la Ragotière a few minutes from the Atlantic near the mouth of the Loire River where the Maritime climate is ideal for producing whites that are refreshing and bright. The Couillaud's age most of this wine on its lees until bottling to add weight and texture with around 10% being barrel fermented in French oak for the faintest touch of toastiness. You will love the abundant citrus aromas, juicy, slightly rich mouth feel and refreshing mineral finish. The perfect wine for all of your holiday gatherings and a stunning value
Good French Chardonnay
2005Bodega Norton Malbec Reserva-Lujan de CuyoMalbec R118.00   WS-88
Focused, with cedar and vanilla aromas leading the way for black cherry, currant and cocoa notes. Taut tannins frame the finish. More like a Cabernet than a Malbec.
2001Bodegas LAN Reserva Rioja, SpainTempranillo R216.001  WS-82
From one of the best vintages in recent memory in Rioja, this Reserva spends 12 months in new American oak and 24 months in the bottle before it is released. The amazing raw materials that were given to Bodegas Lan were not wasted here, the wine shows incredible spicy aromatics of sandalwood and licorice ropes. Fully integrated and bursting with flavor this is packed with blackberry, sweet black tea, leather and a subtle peppery spice. If that is not enough for you the finish is persistent and lasting with cleansing acid and solid, yet giving tannin. Without a doubt this is terrific wine only magnified by its measly price tag. Take advantage of this amazing value.
A thick texture carries flavors of licorice and kirsch in this muscular red. There's good extraction, but the tannins are assertive and a bit dry. Drink now through 2010
2006Cameron Hughes Lot 85 Napa Valley MeritageRed Wine R216.00
Reddish brick hue. Lifted aromas of cherries, boysenberries and violets with a bit of cassis lurking in the background. The palate is lush yet structured highlighting the 1500 foot elevation of the Atlas Peak vineyard where the merlot and cabernet in this blend hail from. The palate is deep with dark cherry and ripe plums and a core of refined tannins all carried in that ethereal structure, again born of altitude and hillside fruit. Decant for an hour before drinking. The main components of this blends, merlot and cabernet, hail from one of the best vineyards in Napa Valley high up on Atlas Peak. The owner of the vineyard happens to be friends with our production winemaker so we got first shot at these components. The remaining component wines were all made at the same winery but were sourced from another vineyard in Pope Valley. I can’t say which programs these wines were cut from but I do know these guys don’t make a bottle under $60. I often say such and such wines don’t make the cut for a $60 program but make a hell of a value at $XX. I think this bottling would make a solid $40-50 wine (certainly competitive with the Meritage market) but makes a hell of a deal at $16. What separates this wine from our other Meritage’s is the fruit. These are first class grapes and the resulting wines, particularly the merlot, are made in a restrained style valuing powerful structure and judicious wood treatment over fatness and showy oak. This wine has an ethereal quality and cohesiveness found only in well-farmed, hillside, elevation vineyards. First class stuff.
Purchased at Costco. # Appellation: 75% Atlas Peak, 25% Pope Valley # Grape: 64% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 8% Malbec, 7% Petite Verdot
2007Celler el Masroig "Sola Fred" MontsantRed Wine  10.001  RP-90
90 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The red wines begin with the 2007 Sola Fred, a non-oaked cuvee of 90% Carinena and 10% Garnacha. Dark ruby-colored, it has an excellent nose of violets, black cherry, and earth notes. Supple and forward on the palate, it has serious depth of flavor, excellent balance, and a long, fruity finish. This hedonistic effort is a great value for drinking over the next 2-3 years. Celler El Masroig, located in the up-and-coming region of Montsant, is a role model for how a cooperative ought to function. The winery keeps only the best grapes and sells off the rest to other producers, some of whom are quite well known. The wines are very fairly priced and offer an excellent price to quality ratio from the top to the bottom of the portfolio." This is a serious bargain.

The black pepper finish settles with smooth tannins. 45% Syrah 29% Petite Sirah 20% Cabernet Franc 6% Malbec, Mourvedre. 2006Clos de los Siete Clos de los Siete, Mendoza (Argentina)Red Wine R215.00   RP-92
92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Clos de los Siete is a slightly different blend with 50% Malbec, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Syrah. Opaque purple-colored, it has a similar expressive nose including fragrant plum, blueberry, and black cherry. Ripe, sweet, and seamless, it admirably hides its tannin under all the fruit. It will evolve for several years but who will have the willpower to defer gratification? It is an awesome value." (12/07) 92 points and "An Editors' Choice" from Wine Enthusiast: "Never in its young history has the Clos 7 blend tasted this good right away. The ’06 shows excellent young aromas of charcoal, black pepper and blackberry. The palate preserves that pepper and coffee blackness as it strides across ripe, satisfying blackberry and cassis flavors. It’s 45% Malbec and then smaller amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Made by Michel Rolland and the other owners of the Clos de los Siete vineyards." (8/1/2008)

2005Domaine Desertaux-Ferrand Vielles VignesPinot Noir R223.00
Nuits Saint Georges - A long, narrow appellation, and the southernmost commune of importance in the Côtes de Nuits. Nuits St. Georges tend to be sturdy, muscular wines, which are tannic in their youth. There are no Grands Cru in the town, but several Premier Cru vineyards. The wines from the north side of the village, towards Vosne-Romanée are distinctly different in character than those from the southern vineyards. The vineyards traditionally among the best are in the South, including Cailles, Vaucrains, St. Georges, and Argillières. These vineyards are on deep brown limestone. The northern vineyards, on the other side of the river Meuzin, have more in common with those of Vosne Romanée. The vineyards are composed of pebbles and limestone, and the wines have more of the finesse and elegance of Vosne, but with the structure of Nuits St. Georges.
This delightful Côte de Nuits-Villages displays the advantage of buying Burgundy from the less fashionable areas. It is rich, full bodied and has a long finish, with pronounced blackberry fruit notes. This is an extraordinary buy at this price. Although the wine comes from the village of Corgolin, it works with the supple and charming character of the vintage to produce a charming, rich wine for current drinking. It shows ripe fruit and lots of charm, along with a floral note. The finish has a note of blck fruit and an interesting spice.

Vinified in temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel vats. Pale yellow with reflections tending towards gold. An ample nose with immediate fruit suggesting ripe peaches. Floral aromas of wildflowers and sage. Hints of musk and tree sap. Dry and yet soft- peachy fruitiness with suggestion of bitter honey on the finish. 2006Dutcher Crossing Vineyards and Winery Stuhlmuller Vineyard ChardonnayChardonnay R232.00
Our 2006 Stuhlmuller Chardonnay represents the Stuhlmuller Vineyard fruit at it's finest. Kerry showcases his magic in this wine by marring old world wine making techniques with new world flash and opulence. The aromatics of this Stuhlmuller offering are creamy tropical fruit with a hint of baked pear spice.
2007Elk Cove Pinot BlancPinot Blanc Cold Storage19/001  WE-89
Now one of the core varietals for Elk Cove Vineyards, this is true to our style of white wines; clean, crisp and focused on the fruit. While great ripeness is apparent in this wine, lean and racy also describes the 2007 Pinot Blanc. This fruit is blended of, not only, both Elk Cove Vineyards’ Estate and Mount Richmond vineyards but also two other sites in the Willamette Valley, Meredith Mitchell in McMinnville and Tukwilla near Dundee. We hope you enjoy this wine selection from Elk Cove Vineyards, as we are proud to include it in our “family” of wines!
2007Elk Cove Pinot GrisPinot Gris Cold Storage19.001  WE-91
The 2007 Elk Cove Vineyards Pinot Gris starts out with sweet and unctuous aromatics; pineapple and a touch of honeysuckle, while also giving crispness on the palate with citrus and grapefruit. Yet true to the Elk Cove Vineyards’ style, there is a rich mouthfeel to give a full and satisfying balanced finish. Drink this lovely white wine as an aperitif or with a variety of food pairings from salmon and main-course salads to Asian and Thai influenced dishes.

2004Erasmo "Reserva di Caliboro" Maule ValleyBordeaux R222.00   RP-91
The 2004 Reserva de Caliboro is composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc. It was aged for 12 months in French oak and bottled unfiltered. It offers a fragrant perfume of cedar, vanilla, red currants, blackberry, and black currants. Elegantly styled, the wine is supple and forward but with a solid structure under the ripe flavors. It is already exhibiting good complexity and should evolve for several more years. It can be enjoyed through 2020
Focused, with red cherry and red currant fruit backed by modest toast. The nice finish shows fruit and mineral notes. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc
2006Everett Ridge Chardonnay - Russian River ValleyChardonnay R218.001
The 2006 Chardonnay starts with green apple and citrus aromas. The mouth has lots of fruit, with creamy citrus and apple, and a slight toasted nut flavor. Aged in oak and stainless steel, our chardonnay has a great finish. A refreshing wine that is great for sipping, this chardonnay also pairs well with a variety of foods, such as pasta Alfredo, or grilled lemon garlic shrimp.

2008Everett Ridge Sauvignon BlancSauvignon Blanc  18.001
The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc is a slightly bigger style for us, but it is a tremendous bottle of wine. There are plenty of inviting aromas - like sweet honeysuckle - when you open the bottle. We tast ripe peach and light citurs flavors. With the ripeness, the wine has a richness that gives it a great mouth-feel, but there is plenty of acidity ot pair with foods. Try it with a Spinach and grilled chicken salad, or lemon-cream shrimp pasta. 498 cases bottled

2007Fontanafredda Barbera Piemonte "Briccotondo"Barbera R211.001  WS-90
90 points and a "Best Buy" designate, Wine Spectator. We think it's better than the '06, which out-sold every other Italian red we carried last year: "Displays lovely plummy, chocolaty character. Full and silky smooth, this is packed with flavor. So delicious. Drink now." (12/08) 90 points from Wine & Spirits Magazine: "A vibrant and youthful barbera with fresh plum and cherry flavors, this feels balanced and cool. An everyday red to enjoy with grilled sausage." (12/08) The wine is aged partly in new barrels made of oak from Allier, and partly in large Slavonian oak casks. It stays in wood for around five months and is bottled in late Spring. The Briccotondo is a ruby-red wine with purple highlights. The nose is packed with black fruit, especially blackberries and plums, with slight spicy overtones hinting at black pepper and cinnamon. Sweet, soft tannins come together in a closely-woven texture that merges with the fruit, while a crisp freshness provides a long, tasty finish. Great with anything in a red sauce!

2004Gray Monk Odyssey Dry Creek Vineyard MerlotMerlot Upstairs16.00
Rich ruby colour with an attractive berry/cherry nose. Medium bodied with berry/chocolate flavour and a touch of vanilla spice oak, set over mellow tannins and firm acids. A long awaited “warm” and satisfying Okanagan red wine to pair with beef, pork roast, lamb, braised veal or venison.
2007Greenwood Ridge Vineyards Mendocino Ridge White RieslingRiesling Cold Storage18.001  WE-88
Since the 1980 vintage, we have been known for our consistently firm, crisp, off-dry Mendocino Ridge estate bottled White Riesling. The sugar/acid balance of the Riesling is an ideal match for exotic spicy dishes such as Indian curry and Szechuan prawns. "Straddles the border between dry and off-dry, with 1.9% residual sugar, but the extraordinarily high acidity balances the honeyed lime, spicy apple pie and wildflower flavors and makes the finish functionally dry. Great as an aperitif sipper, and a honey-glazed ham will be a perfect partner." --Wine Enthusiast Magazine

About the 2000 vintage - "The essence of black cherries is the taste that floods the palate, with rich overlays of oak. There are sturdy tannins yet they are gentle, making the wine immediately enjoyable. This is a firm, full-bodied red wine that will be delicious with lamb or steak. — S.H. (5/1/2004)" We really enjoyed this.

2007Navarro Vineyards EdelzwickerWhite Wine Cold Storage13.00
A specialty of Alsace is a blend called Edelzwicker; literally a mixture (zwicker) of Alsace's noble (edel) grapes: Gewürztraminer (34%), Riesling (32%), Pinot Gris (29%), and Muscat (5%). The price may be small but the flavors and aromas are generous and world class. Gold Medal Winner.
2006Navarro Vineyards Pinot Noir - Méthode à l'Ancienne Anderson Valley, MendocinoPinot Noir  29.001
This is the flagship Pinot Noir which is widely available. Year in and year out it is consistently fine and this vintage is no exception. Perfumed with cherries, roses and tea, and both cherries and herbs leap out on the palate. Oak is deftly integrated. Beautifully crafted and harmonious, a terrific Pinot and one of the best tasted this Festival weekend. A steal at this price.
2007Novitiate Pinot Noir RoseRose Cold Storage17.00
This Rose of Pinot Noir saw minimal skin contact time and handling, resulting in beautiful pink colors with orange undertones. While the goal of Rose production is to enrich and concentrate our other Pinot Noirs, it yields a refreshing, crisp, and almost equally exciting beverage. The aromas of this wine are quite fruity, with hints of banana, orange, and tropical fruits. Upon taste, this Rose shows incredible balance while not being heavy-handed. This wine can be enjoyed with almost any food, on almost any day. Enjoy this Rose at optimum freshness for up to 1-2 years.
2006Orin Swift Cellars "The Prisoner" Napa Red BlendRed Wine R132.001
The 2005 Prisoner was listed as #17 in the Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2007 and awarded 93 points! This vintage of Orin Swift's "The Prisoner" is a blend of 51% zinfandel, 23% cabernet sauvignon, 12% syrah, 6% charbono, 6% petite sirah, and 2% grenache. At the recent new-release tasting event at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) "The Prisoner" was the subject of a lot of buzz, with the consensus being that the 2006 vintage was the best Prisoner that winemaker David Phinney had produced to date. Using fruit sourced from top vineyard sites, including Tofanelli and Duarte Vineyards, the blend is designed to showcase the best of all the varietals in the assemblage: the concentration of cab, the lush berry flavors of zin, the dark black fruit of syrah and the structure and intensity of petite sirah all working together to create a wine that is decadent and complex.

90 points from Robert Parker: "An amazing bargain from Spain, this blend of mourvèdre, grenache, and syrah bursts with plum, blackberry, and licorice-infused fruit. There is a bit of pepper as well, and the wine is silky, soft, and opulent. Serve it at a barbecue...K&L Wine Merchants writes: Mr. Parker is exactly right. To find a wine of this quality at this price is truly a wonderful thing. The vineyards that lend their fruit to this lushly textured wine yield less than two tons per acre. We also found a hint of chocolate on the voluptuously long finish.
2007Pascual Toso Malbec Maipu Valley, ArgentinaMalbec  10.002
Wine Spectator: "Fresh and open, with a mix of raspberry and black cherry fruit followed by a modest dose of toast on the easygoing finish. Drink now." (11/08) The Pascual Toso Malbec is back! The best-selling wine of last year (and of all time at K&L) is as good as ever. The 2007 Malbec offers a bit more aromatic complexity than the 2006, its inviting nose of sweet blackberries, vanilla and mocha, hiding a core of white pepper, violet and cassis. Fleshy and ripe with a bursting mid-palate of juicy cherry, black currant and pie crust, this is completely enjoyable and instantly drinkable, showing the hand of consulting winemaker, Paul Hobbs, in its overall feel. The finish is surprisingly long for such an inexpensive wine, with lavender and subtle flavors of caramel, which are derived from the 30 percent of the wine that is aged in French oak for 10 months. A lot like the 2006, this is not shy and will please any fan of bold flavorful reds like Cabernet and Merlot. Bottom line is this: if you loved the 2006, you will love this!

2007R Wines Bitch Grenache South AustraliaGrenache  10.00
Bitch, a provocatively named 100% Grenache from R Wines, achieves the potential of this difficult-to-grow grape. Winemakers Chris Ringland and Lisa Wetherell use fruit from the Barossa Valley in South Australia. Yields from the 25-year-old vines grown in sand over clay are modest, 3 to 5 tons an acre. Ripe quince and lifted spice with a rich juicy concentration, along with intensely perfumed characters come from the sandy loam soil, and dark berry characters from the heavier red-brown soils. Life may be a bitch, but this wine will keep the complaints away, at least while you're drinking it!
Very good wine. We enjoyed the 2006
2006Ridge Chardonnay MikulacoChardonnay Cold Storage25.00
100% CHARDONNAY. The Mikulaco vineyard was planted in 1982, at an elevation of 1700' on Monte Bello Ridge. Even in warm vintages, its northwest orientation limits afternoon sunshine, making ripening a challenge. Ridge has tended these vines since 2000, and in most vintages has included the fruit in our Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay. The 2006 growing season, however, produced a unique wine, worthy of a separate—if small—bottling. In August, when the chardonnay lots were blind-tasted, the Mikulaco barrels showed a distinctive set of flavors. Defined mountain fruit and firm acidity mark this elegant cool region chardonnay. Approachable now, it will be at its best over the next three to four years.

2002Ridge Lytton Estate SyrahSyrah R136.00
76% syrah, 21% grenache, 3% carignane. Per WS, the 2001 vintage - "A walk on the wild side, inky dark, with ripe, intense, concentrated plum and blackberry flavors, with hints of earth and tar and showing a mushroomy edge on the finish, where the tannins are thick. Drink now through 2009"
The dominant fruit is syrah, which also provides structure. Grenache brings an exotic dimension to the fruit, and old-vine carignane adds bright acidity and a touch of elegance. A total of twenty-two months in air dried american oak has brought the tannins and full body into balance, and five years of bottle age will bring further complexity to this fine wine
2006Rosenblum Cellars Rockpile Road Reserve Zinfandel 30th Anniversary, Rockpile - 2006Zinfandel Upstairs22.501
In honor of our 30th Anniversary, we felt we should produce a special wine to commemorate the momentous occasion. It somehow seemed appropriate to pick one of the AVA's we helped put on the map, and vice versa. Made from 75% Zinfandel and 25% Petite Sirah, these grapes were grown by the Florence Family and then aged in 100% new French Oak. Cream, toastiness, dark fruit, and walnuts blend together for a truly amazing result. While you might not be able to wait that long, this one can age for up to 15 years. Very limited production.

91 points from Wine & Spirits for this affordable white. It's best described as zesty. a word that's fun to say, and a word that very aptly describes this Chilean white, which just happens to be fun to drink! Zesty on the nose, with herb and floral notes, and zesty on the palate, with melon and citrus coming quite freely in this tangy little value-packed S.B. Impossible to resist and equally drinkable either paired with food or not! Wine & Spirits: "At first this is all herbs and asparagus. The tension in the structure holds it firm as the wine gradually shows its gooseberry and mineral side. A great value for sea bass ceviche."

2005Yorkville Cellars Richard The Lion-HeartBordeaux  36.00
Our Richard the Lion-Heart is carefully blended, using the very best barrels of our certified organic estate grown grapes including six varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Carmenere. This may be the only estate grown, California wine that actually has all six of the classic Bordeaux red varietals in the blend. Wine critics typically compare it favorably to wines at twice the price and even more, so it represents terrific Mendocino "bang for the buck." A smooth red with outstanding length. Aromas of cherry, spice and leather. Succulent core of red fruit; cherry and raspberry, a hint of vanilla and lingering fine textured tannins in the finish. This wine matches well with roasts and fine cheeses.

Cellar contains 43 bottles, 35 wines, 86 entries
